Acquisition of Prima XL will expand Duck Creek’s global footprint across EMEA and APAC

Boston – June 28, 2022 – Duck Creek Technologies (NASDAQ: DCT), the intelligent solutions provider defining the future of property and casualty (P&C) insurance, today announces it has agreed to acquire Prima XL, France-based Prima Solutions’ flagship commercial reinsurance technology solution. Prima XL will further enhance Duck Creek’s value to current and future customers by simplifying reinsurance management. the transaction terms also include an agreement by Duck Creek to purchase Prima Compliance for Solvency II, a compliance solution which Duck Creek intends to continue offering in the French marketplace.

With the proposed acquisition of these two cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, Duck Creek will expand its global operations and local presence in the European (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific-Australia (APAC) regions, retaining core talent and operations in Paris, France to complement the company’s existing operations in the United Kingdom and Spain. Upon completion of the proposed transaction, dedicated Prima Solutions’ personnel will join Duck Creek to support Prima XL and Prima Compliance sales, customer success, and operations. The Prima XL reinsurance management solution will be available to insurance organizations operating on Duck Creek systems and systems other than Duck Creek.

Paris, France – May 4th, 2022: Prima Solutions, a software provider for insurance and reinsurance professionals, announces the launch of all of its Prima P&C customers signed since 2018. About a dozen insurance companies, most of which are in the top 20 of the French market, rely on the Prima P&C cloud platform to launch new P&C offers and/or manage claims on a daily basis.

The software’s implementation within these companies necessitated the concurrent management of multiple large-scale projects spread out over several months—if not years. The Prima Solutions teams were able to demonstrate the breadth of their capabilities on all of these projects, which were all carried out using agile methodology. Whether it was a total overhaul of the information system (policies and claims) or more targeted projects such as accelerating the time-to-market for the launch of new innovative insurance offers, regardless of the legacy IS, deadline management and the business expertise of the Prima Solutions teams played a critical role. Stakeholder flexibility has also been a strategic point, particularly during the pandemic, when interactions with insurers has grown increasingly less frequent.

This success is also a market success, as all of the actors involved in the insurance organizations have demonstrated professionalism and resilience. In view of the pandemic, these successes demonstrate that it is possible to launch and implement ambitious projects that shake up internal developments, some of which are more than 30 years old!

Furthermore, by emphasizing strict adherence to the standard rather than adapting its software to the processes that its customers already had in place, Prima Solutions has been able to take part in managed projects, configure features already proven by other customers, and build upon experience gained over the years. Over the last four years, successive production releases have made it possible to deploy new versions of Prima P&C more quickly.

“We are seeing two main scenarios,” explains Frédéric Dutreuil, Product Strategy Director at Prima Solutions. “Some insurance companies and mutual insurance companies ask us to decommission their aging management systems and migrate their insurance portfolios to a more modern and scalable platform. Others are taking a more gradual approach, such as deploying a flexible and modular platform alongside their existing systems to develop new innovative products and reduce their time-to-market, or they unbundle historic mid-size portfolios housed on legacy systems to revitalize them.”

Paris, France – April 26th, 2022: Prima Solutions, a software provider for insurance and reinsurance professionals, has appointed Nathalie Blassel to the role of Group Quality Director. Blassel is now in charge of the Group’s quality policy, as well as the coordination and management of processes for the entire Prima Solutions software offering. Nathalie Blassel has also joined the Prima Solutions executive committee.

Blassel has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance software sector, both in France and internationally. She oversaw DXC’s transformation and optimization programs for health, life, and savings insurance systems on behalf of major insurers such as Aviva, Axa Wealth Services, and Malakoff Humanis.

In 2020, Nathalie Blassel joined Prima Solutions as Consulting Director for Prima L&H, where she successfully piloted strategic digital transformation programs for a number of clients. She has specifically contributed to the improvement of team processes and relationships in France and Canada. Drawing on her experience in other companies, she was able to assess the true quality of deliverables at Prima Solutions and identify areas for improvement.

Controlling the quality of the Prima Solutions software offering is an important issue for the company because it makes it possible to streamline processes, accelerate implementation and versioning projects, and improve customer satisfaction. Nathalie Blassel’s experience leading large-scale digital transformation projects is a significant asset for Prima Solutions, who has always prioritized quality in its strategy.

Monk is a French insurtech company that designs machine learning algorithms for assessing vehicle damage and repair costs in real time. Monk can detect, classify, analyze repairability, and assess damage to direct an auto claim.

This new version, unveiled during its Users Club last November, is part of the company’s objective of offering the gold standard solution for managing P&C claims and contracts. Version 9.10 supports the management of appeals covering all business needs, and it incorporates the latest regulatory updates. Above all, it expands the possible interfaces for an ever more complete and efficient user experience for insurers and policyholders.

Appeals management covering all business needs

Version 9.10 of Prima P&C marks the completion of work to provide insurers with a complete financial summary of property and casualty claims management, covering all scenarios of appeals. Now, all options are integrated into the application and fully configurable by the user, including conventional and free appeals. On the same screen, the manager can also create and process disputes and escalation procedures for a 360° view of its claims summary.

An application that is open to the business ecosystem

Version 9.10 of Prima P&C interfaces with many solutions to provide a comprehensive user experience, along with a wide variety of microservices.

For this new version, the integration work mainly involves the cross-functional modules offered by Prima Solutions, such as Prima Selfcare, the fully configurable communication portal developed by the company to facilitate communication between insurers and policyholders. Through interface with Prima P&C, policyholders (including companies and individuals) can quote, purchase, and view their contracts managed in Prima P&C.

Prima P&C 9.10 is also open to third-party applications for increasingly more efficient management of P&C claims and contracts. “One of our most recent connectors is the interface with Monk, the artificial intelligence solution for visual inspections and assessments of vehicles,” says Hugues Delannoy. “With its visual intelligence technology, Monk can detect, classify, analyze repairability, and assess damage, in order to direct the claim. This interface simplifies and speeds up the process for policyholders involved in a motor vehicle accident, and it improves the NPS (Net Promoter Score) and productivity of insurers. It’s truly revolutionary for this market!”
